T.D. Scott

T.D. is fascinated by the results produced from various mediums … and fire. Although he studied watercolor primarily, he began to dive into hot glass fusing after studying it in Oregon. Drawn to the magical effects that fusing art glass in a kiln produces, but also faced with the distinct challenge of having to keep an immaculately clean studio for such a medium, he was then introduced to encaustic wax painting. He has found this art form to be the most satisfying way for him to translate his vision. The process is quick, hot, and always engaging, and it also allows him to express his desire to create in a manner that is as fluid as nature.  T.D. has installations and commissions across the country including with the San Diego Museum of Art, the Frank Lloyd Wright Society, Tiffany & Co., and the Los Angeles Opera.
